Al-Khobar, which lies on the Gulf coast, is rich in scenic landscapes and tourist attractions that attract visitors from around the Kingdom. The Eastern Province Municipality has worked to improve the visual beauty of the city’s roads by installing aesthetic models in several squares.
Installations at roundabouts
The most prominent landmarks where models have been installed include the Obayya Roundabout in partnership with the private sector, and the Al-Bairaq Roundabout in the Al-Azizia neighborhood that features a towering flag as a way of expressing national belonging.
Al-Ardah Square
The installation in Al-Ardah Square is an interactive arena featuring 13 areas inscribed with motifs that artistically reflect the urban identity of the Kingdom's various provinces. Each area has a QR code that links to information explaining each province’s details and history in different languages and using various audiovisual methods. There is also a dancing water surface set to the songs of Al-Ardah.
Sky Clouds
The "Sky Clouds" roundabout spans 14,750 square meters and consists of two blocks firmly planted on the ground; the design is inspired by the desert and symbolizes the unification and development of the Kingdom. Engraved is the Kufic phrase, “The sky is the limit”.
