There are many projects in Riyadh that aim to realize one of the Saudi Vision 2030’s main tenets – to create a vibrant and healthy society for its members. Among these projects is the Royal Arts Complex, which is one of the most important components of King Salman Park.
Salmani architecture
By embracing the Salmani architectural design that combines the modern and traditional, the King Salman Park Foundation aspires to meet Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s vision to establish the complex as a major beacon of culture and arts in the heart of Riyadh. The park also aims to establish the capital as one of the world’s top liveable cities.
Cultural and arts hub
Spanning an area exceeding 500,000 square meters, the Royal Arts Complex will feature the Museum of World Cultures, which is being built in a dedicated building around 110 meters high.
It also boasts the 2,300-seater National Theater as well as the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts, which features three academies.
Other facilities include a sculpture pavilion, two theaters, three cinemas, and a large hall that will house the works of artists and creators. The complex will also hold a library with more than 250,000 books focused on culture and the arts.
Riyadh’s world-class park
The King Salman Park is projected to become Riyadh’s “green lung” and the world’s biggest urban park as it spans over 16 million square meters. It will provide a vibrant experience for the city’s residents by offering them a variety of environmental, cultural, artistic and recreational options.
King Salman Park is characterized by its strategic location in Riyadh and linked to several main roads as well as the capital’s train and bus network.
The project boasts a circular pedestrian walkway stretching 7.2 kilometers, open spaces extending more than 11 square kilometers, and about 1 million trees covering all areas of the park.
