Saiysad National Park: Taif’s premier nature reserve

Taif is home to some wonderful green areas. For instance, in the northeast of the city lies the standout Saiysad National Park, a nature reserve surrounded by mountains covered with dense trees and vast wild fields. Inaugurated in 1999, the park features mountains, plains, springs and several picturesque valleys such as the Saiysad and El-Arj valleys. It is also named after the famous Saiysad Dam, which was established during the reign of the Umayyad Caliph Muawiya Ibn Abi Sufyan in the seventh century.
